Thursday, the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF) and the expropriation Committee, coordinated by Ronald Décembre, the Secretary of State for Tax Reform, have made ​​a working session with the Dominican firm Estrella ; the Ministry Public Works Transport and Communication, represented by its Secretary of State, Philippe Cineas and Mr. Michel Présumé, the engineer of the Committee to review on the one hand the management of the firm Estrella and secondly address expropriation problems related to the ongoing infrastructure projects.

Les Cayes Airport (South) :

The airport, whose the amount of expropriation amounts to 435 million Gdes is underway for several months. This meeting was an opportunity to find with all stakeholders, a formula that would reduce the cost of expropriation and establish mechanisms to implement to enable the work.

Despite the various efforts of local authorities to raise public awareness on the methodology used to perform legally expropriations (divided into 4 blocks), some residents non-holders of legal property title slow expropriation of block B. The Block A, already expropriated cost the Haitian State 40.5 million of Gdes while block C and D the disbursement should be around 214 million Gdes in compensation.

A public meeting is scheduled for Saturday, December 14 at 10:00 am, at the Town Hall of Carrefour, to inform residents of the grid adopted for the evaluation of the determination of the amounts.

The Viaduct of Delmas :

One hundred houses are affected by the expropriation already underway, which was valued at 194 million Gdes. For this purpose, the letters of notifications are being distributed.

For residents reluctant at the eviction process, a period not exceeding 11 January 2014 has been set to complete the process. Therefore, Monday, December 11, 2013 an order will be sent by a bailiff as a final injunction, the hatchet houses being planned for January 14, 2014.

The stretch of road Hinche-St Raphael :

The expropriation process is in its second phase, and 114 million Gdes have already been mobilized. The letters to owners have already been delivered and the funds are available to the Departmental Directorate of Hinche of MEF to perform the compensation, subject to strict verification of the authenticity of titles deposited.

The stretch of road Gonaïves (Carrefour Joffe) - Bigot :

The assessment of compensation is already done by the Expropriation Committee. The legal process will be initiated shortly to rapidly advance with the expropriation and release infrastructure works.
