Haiti - Reconstruction : 75% of everything that is done in Haiti, is thanks to Petrocaribe...

David Lesly, the Haitian Ambassador to Venezuela, during an interview on state television network in Venezuela (VTV), has questioned the effectiveness of international aid channeled through various NGOs. He declared that "what the Haitian government has done in Haiti, to date it is thanks to Petrocaribe."

"With this support, we build schools, ministries [...] The venezuela sell us oil at a preferential price" but after January 12, "President Chávez has canceled Haiti's debt," the funds were used for many things "We can say that 75% of what is being done in Haiti, now, it is thanks to the help of Venezuela," specifying that with Venezuela "everything is done through the Government of Haiti, this is why that works and gives results."

Lesly David pointed out that the President of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro was very familiar with reality of Haiti, "He knows how was the country before, because he was Chancellor of Commander Chavez and he knows how to compare what has been achieved today [...]There is nobody who knows more about the problems between Haiti and Venezuela that President Maduro."
