Haiti - Sports : Three French at the head of Haitian football

On Thursday, the former Head of Training Centre of Paris Saint-Germain, Marc Collat​​, French of Martinican origin officially took control of the National Football Selection "The Grenadiers" succeeding to Blake Cantero.

At a press conference at the FIFA Goal Centre in Croix-des-Bouquets, Yves Jean-Bart the President of the Haitian Football Federation (FHF) officially presented the new national coach Marc Collat​​, who will also be the Coach of the Olympic selection. About the failure of his predecessors, Marc Collat ​​declined to comment, "I do not know why these coaches failed [...] However, I am very familiar with the Haitian team and it is unacceptable that Haiti has all these good players and that collectively, the team has not been successful..."

The new coach of the Grenadiers promised to make advance the Haitian football at all levels "we will do everything to move forward and improve the national ranking and qualify for the finals of some international competitions" before setting its objectives "my first goal is to win the Nations Cup with the Grenadiers and qualify for the Olympic team for the 2016 Olympics [...] we must be aware, to allow our football to breathe this new life, what professionalism."

While explaining that things were not going to change overnight, teh coach of Grenadiers said he had not a game system in mind, it will depend on the quality of players. Adding that for now "national team will focus to professional players [...] I will appeal to international playing in Europe of course, but also to those who play in the USA, Canada and other [...] without neglecting the players playing in Haiti."

Yves Jean-Bart took the opportunity to thank the Haitian government, which according to him, sent a letter to the FHF confirming that he was ready to help the FHF, in the reform of national football towards professionalism.

Note that the Grenadiers could play their first friendly match under the direction of Marc Collat ​​next March, "but not against France," said the new head of the National Team.
