Haiti - Security : Emergency landing of a Cessna Super Skymaster in Cabaret

Haitian police reported on Thursday that a 6-seats small plane registered N434 departing from Pompano Beach Airpark, Pompano Beach, FL for the airport of Port-au-Prince, piloted by a U.S. citizen had mechanical problems and made an emergency landing in a banana field in Haiti.

Police Inspector Joachim Antoine stated that the American pilot, Practor Antoine, is being treated for unspecified injuries at a hospital in the capital. A passenger named John Michael was not injured.

The incident occurred in Cabaret, a coastal town north-west of the capital, pointed out Inspector Antoine, a town located 21 km from the Toussaint Louverture International Airport.

According to our information that same aircraft, dating from 1976, a Cessna Skymaster Super, property of XAIR LLC since September 2013, had made the day before a flight between Pompano Beach Airpark (Pompano Beach, FL) and International Cap-Haitien Airport.
