Haiti - Education : «Towards the regulation of school infrastructure and equipment»

The Fund of Economic and Social Assistance (FAES), representatives of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), of the Directorate of Engineering School (DGS) and the Unit for Housing Construction and Public Buildings (UCLBP) participated in the Hotel Montana, to an information day, organized by the Ministry of National Education, on the theme "Towards the regulation of school infrastructure and equipment".

Speakers at this workshop discussed the standards of school buildings and the many activities that the educational community must undertake. These standards are designed to create a framework to facilitate the teaching and learning process while improving the quality of school buildings.

The resultant consequences will be: to ensure the safety of students and staff, to provide better working conditions, improve physical accessibility for all children in schools and reduce disparities between rural schools and those located in cities.

Note that these standards will be applicable to all school buildings under construction or in rehabilitation in Haiti.
