Haiti - Education : Continuation of the strike and demonstrations in Petit-Goâve

Sunday, many teachers in primary and secondary public schools of Petit-Goâve, gathered at the Lycée Faustin Soulouque to discuss the action to be taken to their claims movement, initiated last week https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-10405-haiti-news-some-news-here-and-there.html

After analyzing on the one hand the weaknesses of the MOU found in late January between the Ministry of National Education and the teachers' unions Platform (CONEH, GIEL, UNNOEH, CNEH, FENATEC) https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-10383-haiti-education-truce-of-the-strike-of-public-sector-teachers.html and secondly compared the large gap between the salaries of justice officials and the teachers, the teachers of Petit-Goâve consider correct and necessary to maintain the mobilization.

Also at the end of this meeting, the teachers decided to launch a strike word for Monday 3 and Tuesday, 4 February and a call to protest in the streets Wednesday, February 5 "We have taken this resolution because the Ministry of Education refuses to satisfy all our grievances." In addition, teachers threaten to continue their strike, as long as their demands are not met.
