On foot, by bicycle https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-10336-haiti-security-bike-patrol-a-new-course-at-the-police-training-school.html , by car or on horseback, the National Police of Haiti (PNH), increases the complementarity and diversity of means of interventions for better security of citizens.

Sunday by deploying officially in the streets of Jacmel, his first and new brigade of mounted police, the PNH has aroused curiosity and surprise at passersby.

Due to the elevated position of the policemen on their horses, allowing them to have a cleared field of view, than that of police officers in car or on foot, this new specialized equestrian brigade,is intended for surveillance and crowd management: events, festivals, concerts etc... and to ensure the safety of citizens through an active and deterrent presence, based on prevention, mediation but also repression if necessary.

This brigade "Mounties of Haiti" will be deployed at the National Carnival 2014 to be held in Gonaives 2-3 and 4 March.
