Following the operation, Friday, Feb. 28, led one of anti-smuggling brigades, who had intercepted in Morne Cabris a cargo of 20,000 chicks transported by 4 pick-up vehicles and leads to the arrest of the entrepreneur Ele-Haiti, a multi-service company, owner of the cargo, as well as a veterinary inspector dispatched on site by the Ministry of Agriculture, suspected by the customs officers of the General Administration of Customs (AGD) of complicity, for according to them, tried to convince the members of the brigade to pass the goods ; a new operation has just been be successful again.

Friday, March 7, in Ouanaminthe, health authorities of the Ministry of Agriculture of Haiti, and the AGD, announced the seizure and destruction of thousands of chicks, meat and eggs illegally brought from the Dominican Republic, in violation of sanitary measures imposed by the Government.

Recall that under the agreement of February 14, 2014, Haitian and Dominican authorities had taken steps to set up the Technical Committee responsible for reviewing and supervising the application of sanitary measures to regulate the trade of poultry products. These series of seizures of poultry goods, are caused by the fact that so far, no Dominican company has no date, authorization to export poultry products to Haiti.
