Thursday, the First Lady of the Republic, Sophia Martelly, officially launched in Cayes-Jacmel, in the presence of the Minister of Public Health and Population, Dr. Florence D. In her remarks for the occasion, Sophia Martelly declared that this program will allow to establish the decisional balance between husbands and wives at home. "Ak planin nan, mesye yo pap kouri lè yo tande yon pitit tonbe, medam yo ap rete anfòm, y’ap ka chwazi kilè pou yo fè pitit, yap gen plis tan pou pran swen timoun yo epitou y’ap ka planifye pou yo kontinye al lekòl, pou yo aprann fè yon aktivite k’ap pote lajan nan kay la menm jan ak gason an," she declared.

The wife of the Head of State that encouraged all service providers to be actively involved in the national campaign, has also stressed the interest of President Martelly for family planning, which represents for him a real factor of poverty reduction.

After the launching ceremony, Sophia Martelly traveled to Jacmel where she inaugurated the Clinic Ary Bordes PROFAMIL. This new structure, whose the achievement was made possible thanks to the support of the Japanese government will contribute to "Empowering parents to exercise power and control over childbearing."
