Excellence in IFORTH

Monday, Karine Conde, South Departmental Director of Tourism, accompanied by a delegation from the Institute of Hotel and Tourism Training South (IFORHT), met in Port-au-Prince, Stéphanie Balmir Villedrouin, the Minister of Tourism and Daniel Denis , the Director of training in order to encourage excellence, of 4 students who had the best score of the previous session. They visited the full Bar "Irish Village" in Petion Ville, an initiative which comes within the framework of the pedagogical plan of the institute.

Projects with France

Tuesday at the invitation of the Intermunicipal Association Camp-Perrin-Maniche (AICCPM), Karine Conde, Director departmental South of Tourism met at the Hotel Le Recul Camp Perrin, a delegation from France composed of representatives of the "Haiti Wants" mission and the General Council of Seine et Marne, on the agenda of the discussions various projects : the construction of a house of culture and tourism, establishment of a Office Intercommunal Camp Perrin-Maniche and strengthening of the Tourist circuit.

Preparations for the Joint Bilateral Commission

Tuesday took place a working meeting between the Minister of Tourism, Dithny Joan Raton, Departmental Director of Tourism South East, Régine Lamur, Roving Ambassador and Technical Secretary for the Haitian part of the Haitian-Dominican Joint Commission and Nesmy Manigat, a member of the bipartisan Commission of negotiation and Advisor to the Prime Minister. Discussions focused on the preparation of the meeting of the Bilateral Joint Commission, to be held on April 8 at the convention center of Jacmel and the nalysis of Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministries of Tourism of Haiti and Dominican Republic.

Meeting with Ambassador of South Africa

Thursday morning, the Minister Villedrouin, met the Ambassador of South Africa to Haiti, Ms. Mathu T. Joyini, in visit in Haiti to which she presented her vision for tourism and an outline of its development projects. The discussions revolved around issues of common interest, in particular the prospects of development of training programs and diplomacy to promote tourism.

Monitoring of the management plan of Côtes-de-Fer

On Thursday, the Minister of Tourism along with Felipe Ortiz Gonzalez, Mexican Consultant working on the strategic program RIAT (Integrated regions of Development of Tourist) has monitored the development plan of Côtes-de-Fer (South of Haiti). This plan was presented in the evening to Alex Zozaya, AMResorts President, and CEO of Apple Leisure Group, a management company of hotels and travel, fame in the United States.

Coastal protection in Les Cayes

Thursday in the premises of the Administrative Complex of Les Cayes, Karine Conde, South Departmental Director of Tourism participated in the participatory planning workshop of the project seaside of Les Cayes. The objective was to identify means of coastal protection and realization of the Boulevard de la Mer.

Delegation of investors

On Friday, a delegation composed of investors in particular of Apple Leisure Group and Frank Ranieri, Chairman of the Punta Cana Group, led by the Minister of Tourism, explored the south coast of Haiti and the Ile-a-Vache. Two regions that are each the subject of a tourist Development Plan developed by the Ministry of Tourism.
