Haiti - Justice : Me Claude Jean appointed to replace Me Gérald Norgaisse

Monday, Me Jean Renel Sanon, the Minister of Justice announced that following the resignation of Gérald Norgaisse, acting Government Commissioner near the Court of First Instance of Port-au-Prince https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-10856-haiti-justice-me-gerald-norgaisse-resigns.html , Substitute Commissioner of the Government Commissioner, Me Claude Jean, was chosen to ensure the interim at the head of the prosecution that, until the return of the Substitute Government Commissioner, Kerson Charles Darius, currently a study trip in the United States.

Moreover, in its press note Minister Sanon stresses that "The Ministry also believes it appropriate to cut short the speculations some more wicked than others, to reaffirm its commitment in accordance with the formal instructions of the Head of State His Excellency Michel Joseph Martelly and Prime Minister, His Excellency Laurent Salvador Lamothe, to continue unabated and unequivocally the struggle against crime in all its forms, including rape, kidnapping, drug trafficking and the fight for the respect of private property.

The Minister of Justice and Public Security, once again, provides its full supports to an independent Judiciary, a justice healthy and independent but not tyrannical."
