In a note, the Directorate General of Electricity of Haiti (EDH) apologized to its customers in particular and the population in general for the untimely rationing observed in the past 3 days in the metropolitan area. EDH said the cuts are due to a fuel shortage caused by a delay in delivery in the power plants Sogener of Varreux, which supplies power to about 50% of the metropolitan area, reducing power from 14 hours hours per day to 9 hours a day.

EDH said understood that this unexpected reduction represents a major inconvenience for its customers and reassures him that all necessary steps are taken to restore service shortly. According to its information, the boat fuel is expected between Saturday and Sunday and the service back to normal as soon as the plants of Sogener will be fueled.
