Haiti - Politic : Inauguration of judicial infrastructure in Saint-Michel de l'Attalaye

On Friday, President Michel Martelly, went to Saint-Michel de l'Attalaye (Artibonite) where he inaugurated a modern building housing the Peace Court, the Office of Civil State and the Office of National Identification of this commune.

The President, who thanked the actors involved in this project, including the Minustah, wished that the Judges, clerks, lawyers, bailiffs and other staff of the judicial system of the commune, be aware of the confidence that the Government place in them regarding the good behavior theywill have to show to be respected by all "Justice is one of the great powers of the State capable of contributing to peace and security within the society."

For his part, Me Jean Renel Sanon, the Minister of Justice stated that the new building comes to enhance the image of justice in this commune ecalling that this construction is part of a plan to build 50 administrative buildings each year through all the jurisdictions of the Republic.

Still in this commune, the Head of State has made the delivery of 25 checks to a group of women entrepreneurs operating in the processing of agricultural products and also distributed irrigation pumps to 18 farmers.

The President ended his tour in Artibonite by visiting irrigation and drinking water system of Savane Diane, completed at a cost of U.S. $ 982.182 which includes :

    A dam of 2 m high on the rivver of Attalaye , which allows to ivert part of the river water through a pipe 10 inches diameter ;

  • A hill lake (reservoir) 4 hectares (120,000 m3 capacity) which receives water from the dam to supply irrigation systems and drinking water ;

  • An irrigation system which currently covers an area of ​​50 hectares of the 400 hectares targeted ;

  • A system for processing and storage of water for the benefit of the Village of Hope where it is distributed to the public through six public fountains.

Recall that in Saint-Michel de l'Attalaye, which has just been electrified with a budget of 82 million gourdes of the Treasury, the construction of the Public Square and other infrastructure are underway.
