 Haiti - Health : Health Statistics Annual Report 2013

Monday at Karibe Convention Center (Petion-ville) in the framework of the commemoration of the International Nurses Day, Dr. Florence Guillaume Duperval, the Minister of Public Health took advantage of the event to present the Health Statistics Annual Report 2013.

This 52-page report prepared by the Department of Statistics of the Studies and Planning Unit (UEP) with the support of utures Group International through the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) provided by department and across the country, statistics on population, the attendance of institutions, the care and health offered to he general population. New statistics such as university hospitals and specialized as well as those on maternal deaths reported by health institutions were included in this report what allowed to calculate the ration of maternal mortality in Haiti.

This report demonstrates the progress achieved in Haiti does not fail to highlight the different existing weaknesses in the health system in Haiti.

In his speech, Ramiz Alakbarof, Representative of the United Nations Fund for Population Activities (UNFPA) has estimated that the occident must take another look at Haiti, because the indicators show that there are many things that have improved.
