Haiti - Justice : Arrest of the leader of FOPARK

Saturday afternoon, Rony Timothée, the leader of the opposition organization "Patriotic Force for the Respect of the Constitution" (FOPARK) [close to Fanmi Lavalas] was arrested in the area of the Toussaint Louverture International Airport by a patrol of the National Police of Haiti while he was on board a vehicle.

Remember that this week, in a statement from the Ministry of Justice, Minister Jean Renel Sanon had "invited the victims to lodge complaint before the courts, so that these troublemakers are prosecuted, tried and punished according to law."

While opposition parties are preparing to protest again this Sunday in the streets of Port-au-Prince, they strongly condemn this arrest, seeing the hand of the Executive, who seek to silence opposition, which asks the resignation of President Martelly...
