Thursday, May 29 at the official invitation of the Prime Minister, Laurent Lamothe, a delegation composed of 18 Haitian of the non-profit organization "Ban mwen dwam international", of leaders of some communities in the Diaspora, doctors, pastors and journalists whose known journalist and businessman of Miami, Nelson Voltaire, accompanied by the Deputy Jean Danton Léger, will meet at the Primature the Head of Government to discuss the feasibility of census project of Haitians living abroad and follow up on the implementation of Article 9 (paragraph c) of the El Rancho Agreement concerning the electoral process that provides "Article 9: Election Process. c. Gradually allow the Haitians living abroad (diaspora), holders of a National Identification Card (NIC), duly registered on the electoral list and meets the requirements of Article 16 of the amended Constitution, to vote in the next election (legal framework to establish)."

During his stay, the delegation will meet during a tour, religious, political personalities as well as groups of young people through various departments of country in order to mobilize all sectors of the country in 2015, in the electoral process and the vote of the Diaspora for the elections.

Also note that François Guillaume II, the Minister of Haitians Living Abroad held a meeting the previous week with Gregoire Goodstein, Chief of Mission of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) about including the identification of Haitians living abroad and possible cooperation project. Grégoire Goodstein promised technical assistance for the registration of our compatriots abroad. Note that the project will be launched on May 31 in the Dominican Republic in the region of Barahona.

Minister Guillaume II reminded his interlocutor, major axes of intervention "IMRE" of the Ministry namely : Initiate a real census campaign of the Diaspora ; Mobilise the Diaspora towards the creation of an investment fund and a proposed action ; Restore Haiti's image to the exterior ; Establish a network of reception center in Haiti as well as abroad.

For three years "Ban mwen dwam international" one of the Diaspora organizations, continues to struggle for defending the rights, for the integration and reintegration of all Haitians living abroad. Past year, this organization via the Deputy Jean Danton Léger, supported draft laws in Parliament for a better understanding of the Diaspora and the vote of Haitians living abroad.
