Haiti - Security : Nearly 200 young people will be trained in military engineering in Brazil

Following the agreement signed last Thursday on the implementation of the institutional strengthening project in Military Engineering https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-11266-haiti-security-signature-of-an-agreement-to-strengthen-the-military-engineering.html Celso Amorim, the Brazilian Minister of Defence confirmed to his Haitian counterpart, Major Lener Renauld, that by the signing of this cooperation agreement, confirms the commitment of the President of Brazil, Dilma Rousseff, to host around 200 young Haitian students in Military Engineering this year.

"Strengthening the capacity of defense of the country against natural hazards is a priority for the administration Martelly-Lamothe," said Minister Renauld, recalling that his ministry is working and increase contact "for Haiti to regain its sovereignty by the taking full and complete of its territory [...] to do so, the establishment of a force and a Haitian defense system is mandatory [...] we are on the good track [...]"
