Haiti - Elections : CEP is working, Government disburses 40M gourdes

While the dialogue continues between the Executive and Parliament to attempt to resolve the pre-electoral crisis, the 7 members of the Provisional Electoral Council, working to set up the process, which should lead the country to elections next 26 October.

Tuesday, Frizto Canton, President of the Provisional Electoral Council announced that the Government had proceeded to the effective disbursement of 40 million gourdes intended "firstly o the development of BED and BEC and the effective implementation of necessary administrative structures and secondly, to the liquidation of wage arrears for the benefit of the employees of the Provisional Electoral Council," recalling that the CEP intends to implement the required electoral process and calls on all political parties involved to accompany him in the realization of the electoral process in the major interest of the Nation.
