Haiti - Politic : the OCAPH announces a series of debates with the candidates to the presidency
The OCAPH (Observatoire Citoyen de l’Action des Pouvoirs Publics Haïtien) announces the launching this month [September 2010] of a series of debates organized in collaboration with several media of the country and the universities based both in Haiti and abroad, which will relate to the programs of the approved candidates.

In addition to candidates, the debates, the first of which will be held in Port-au-Prince on Sept. 18, will comprise inter alia: "personalities from the academic, social and professional organizations, the Diaspora, representatives of committees management of IDP camps and the religious world", said Mr. Jean Louis, executive secretary of the OCAPH.

Mr. Louis stated that these discussions will allow presidential candidates to present their views on political and economic governance, external cooperation, health and education to civil society and citizens in particular. Insisting that these debates are not spaces to promote a campaign. He recalls that they are the citizens who will choose their future leader and they need to exerting this choice well to know the programs of the candidates.
