Paul Evans of "Konvansyon Inite Demokratik" (KID), Victor Benoit of "Fusion of Social Democrats" and Serge Jean Louis of "Patriotic Movement of Democratic Opposition" (MOPOD), which brings together the main opposition parties , see in this decree a "hasty decision" [!] they point out that the amendments to the electoral law have not been ratified, while forgetting that Article 12 of the Agreement El rancho stipulates "In cases where amendments to the electoral law planned and proposed in the framework of the dialogue are not passed by the two branches of Parliament within the period prescribed in section eight (8) of this Agreement, Parties note with the Provisional Electoral Council (CEP) the physical impossibility of applying Articles referred. The MOPOD says it is "[...] an illegal decree without real foundation and no future [...] There can not be election with the existing regime, in the current political crisis."

Dieudonne Saincyr Spokesperson of INITE Party critic that "[...] the decision of President Martelly to accelerate the electoral process in the current conditions, [...] proves once again its determination to establish a dictatorial regime in the country." Paul Denis, a major official of INITE abounds in the same direction stating that "President Michel Martelly, attempts to commit an electoral coup."

For his part, Fanmi Lavalas sees in this convocation in elections an "arbitrary act" and requires the President of the Republic to reconsider its decision. Maryse Narcisse, the Coordinator of the Party, believes that "the power is in the process of maneuvering to direct and manipulate the next election."

Pierre Espérance, the Executive Director of the "National Network for the Defence of Human Rights" (RNDDH) disagrees with the decision of the President Martelly to convene the people in the elections, while the issue of the Provisional Electoral Council is still not resolved. He is convinced that "the Executive is on a very slippery slope."

The only point on which the opposition parties seem to agree is to continuing to mobilize and continue to demand the departure of the government in place...
