Haiti - Tourism : Things are moving everywhere !

Prevention and waste management :

Monday, Stéphanie Balmir Villedrouin, the Minister of Tourism and Creative Industry (MTIC), met with the Mayors of Carrefour, Léogâne and Gressier, the Director General and the directors of the South and Southeast of MTIC on a strategy of prevention and waste management in these areas. Clean Cities for greater tourist attraction and a better image of Haiti.

Monday, June 23 a large delegation of journalists and PR specialists of tourism arrived in Cap-Haitien International Airport, to discover the destination in general and produce reports on the tourism product. The delegation was composed of:

Greeted by Ms. Dieudonne Luma, the Regional Director North Ministry of Tourism and Creative Industries (MTIC), these professionals of the Press found in the evening some voodoo activities on the occasion of pastoral festivals in Trou-du-Nord.

Tuesday delegation visited the Downtown Historic of Cap Haitien, the National Historic Park, including the Citadelle and Sans Souci Palace and promised to bring the word to the ears of their fellow citizens and to project the image of quality of Haiti.

Thursday, Ms. Joan Dithny Raton, the Departmental Director of Tourism South East, hosted in turn, the English delegation, which stayed at the "Colline Enchantée" (Marigot). During its visits, the delegation has fallen under the spell of the natural site Bassin Bleu, the historic center of Jacmel and its craft stores. These professionals have enjoyed the Haitian cuisine offered by the owners of tourist facilities in the region (the Colline Enchantée, Villa Nicole and hotel Florita).

Wednesday, students of the Hotel School of Haiti (HHE) selected for a one-month training for tourist, have paid a visit to the Toussaint Louverture in Port-au-Prince International Airport toinquire about its operation. Note that at the end of their training these young students of HHE will begin an internship at some of the key points of the destination including airports of Cap-Haitien and Port-au-Prince.

Cheryl Mills visited the North

Thursday, Cheryl Mills, the Chief of Staff of Mrs. Clinton, during a courtesy visit in North Destination, did not hide his amazement at the beauty of the tangible and intangible heritage of the destination. Accompanied by Ms. Dieudonne Luma, Regional Director North MTIC, Mrs. Mills visited the National Historical Park, including the Citadelle Henry and Sans Souci Palace. Ms. Cheryl Mills, promised to be the spokesperson of the wonders found in the North and left delighted with her visit and what she had seen.
