Haiti - Security : 2nd Promotion of 125 customs officers

Tuesday at the National School of Financial Administration (ENAF), the Prime Minister, Laurent Lamothe, accompanied, among by Ronald Décembre, the Secretary of State for Finance and Godson Aurélus, the Director of the National Police of Haiti (PNH) and Fresnel Jean-Baptiste, Director General of the General Administration of Customs (AGD), has launched a new training session, in "customs legislation and safety checks" for 125 customs officers of the 2nd Promotion, recruited from among 5,000 candidates...

This initiative aims to strengthen the General Administration of Customs (AGD) in its mission of collecting and protection of local market, was an opportunity for the Head of Government to remind the vision of President Martelly who "intends to fight against drug trafficking, smuggling and the strengthening of controls on goods, in order to increase the revenue of the State to promote job creation and boost the development of local businesses."

Fresnel Jean-Baptiste, welcomed the recruitment of the second Promotion of 125 customs officials, what "eflect the commitment of President Martelly and Prime Minister Lamothe to achieve greater efficiency in the fight against tax evasion in order to create more jobs in the country and carry out more projects for the population."

This initiative is added to many others, such as the creation of the Interministerial Committee by the government to help eradicate corruption in the country and increase tax revenues necessary to achieve sustainable projects and accelerate the development of the country.
