 Haiti - Security: 96 arrests in Petion-ville

On Thursday, the Superior Council of the National Police, headed by the Prime Minister Lamothe met to take stock of the operations conducted by the police in Petion-ville, within the framework of Security plan of the metropolitan area started since 3 weeks (Phase I).

During this period, 96 individuals, including four prison escapees including 2 life sentence were arrested, three firearms seized and 148 motorcycles retained for various reasons.

The Phase II of Security Plan, consists to strengthen security measures in the city of Port-au-Prince, is ongoing and these these same provisions will shortly extend to all communes in the metropolitan area.

Recall that other operations conducted in Cité Soleil led to the arrest of dangerous individuals, the last particularly muscular, involved in support to the PNH, 273 soldiers (MINUSTAH) and 109 UNPOL officers (United Nations Police). https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-11508-haiti-security-strong-operation-in-cite-soleil.html
