Haiti - Economy : The challenge for Haiti at the heart of a meeting with the AMCHAM

On Tuesday, the Prime Minister, Laurent Lamothe, accompanied by Wilson Laleau, the Minister of Trade and Industry (MCI), and Norma Powell, General Director of Investment Facilitation Center (CFI), met with an important delegation of the American Chamber of Commerce (AMCHAM) around important issues that represent the sectors of agriculture and energy in the development of country. Investment, job creation, increasing the growth, which are among the priorities of the economic development policy of the Government, were also discussed.

Regarding employment, one of the priority concerns of the Government, while recognizing that the State alone will not be able to solve this problem and win this battle, the Prime Minister reiterated his commitmentto his interlocutors to secure investments as nationally and internationally and to support the private sector in all initiatives for job creation.

Commending the leadership role of the private sector alongside the State in boosting the country's economy, Prime Minister encouraged the industry to continue to engage, to make Haiti an emerging country by 2030.
