Haiti - Culture : Training of 50 professional trainers in live sound

The Haiti Jazz Foundation, co-beneficiary of the European Programme for Cultural Initiatives Support (PESIC), has recently completed a series of 3 days intensive training in live sound, for practicing professionals from the 10 departments of the country. This was to train trainers so that they can in turn share their achievements in their area. Travel expenses, "per diem" and hosting of the fifty beneficiaries were supported by the PESIC.

This theoretical and practical training program, developed by Joël and Mushy Widmaier, aimed to strengthen the gains and share with these

50 professionals who, for the most part, learned the trade on the job, the basics on the sound "It was a very rewarding experience for us as trainers, we could realize how this type of action is important, particularly for technicians in province, who rarely, if never, access to this type of training. They arrived with little knowledge and left with a highly relevant background information," explained Joël Widmaier.

For his part, Ambassador of the European Union, Javier Nino Pérez stated "The music professionals are in high demand for tools that enable them to continuously improve the quality of their work. I look forward to the completion of this training cycle that directly contributes to the professionalization of the entire music industry in Haiti."

In 2015, still under the PESIC, the Jazz Foundation Haiti will undertake a series of training targeting the same amount of teachers to receive training in trades of artist coaching : management, promotion, management of social networks, protection of copyrights etc...
