Haiti - Education : 23 scholarship students will continue their studies in Taiwan

In the framework of the cooperation Haiti-Republic of China (Taiwan), the President Michel Martelly, in the presence of the Ambassador of the Republic of China (Taiwan) in Haiti, Tsai Chiu-Hwang, Nesmy Manigat, Minister of National Education and Duly Brutus, Minister of Foreign Affairs, received on Thursday at the National Palace, 23 Haitian scholarship students who will leave the country Monday, September 8, 2014, heading for Taipei to pursue their university studies.

The Head of State, began by commended the Taiwanese cooperation in Haiti, and then recommended to the young scholars to stay positive, never back down and get trained in order to return to serve their country, "You are part of the Haitian elite. The country expects a lot from you, never forget that you are our ambassadors to Taiwan. Be sure to make a good promotion of Haiti while a student there."

In his speech Ambassador Hwang praised the program stressing that the number of scholarship recipients may increase, depending on the performance of this group of scholars.

Note that the 23 young people who have excelled in the competition selection made ​​by the Embassy of the Republic of China (Taiwan), will spend a year of intensive Chinese language course before beginning their university education. These students will be divided into five academic disciplines: medicine, International Business Administration, sustainable development of environment, tropical agriculture and public works.
