Haiti - Economy : 5 new members to the National Commission on Government Procurement

Tuesday, Me Arnel Alexis Joseph, President of the Court of Cassation, proceeded to the ceremony of swearing in of 5 new members of the National Commission on Government Procurement (CNMP) appointed by presidential decree dated September 5, 2014, they are : Yvon Guirand, Coordonnateur, Joseph Lucien Moïse, Sandra Toussaint Joseph, Florient Jean-Mary and Noel Laguerre, membres.

In his speech, Me Arnel Alexis Joseph urged the new members to make the law their compass in terms of procurement, at a time when Haiti is ranked 163rd (2013) out of 177 countries (improvement of two places compared to 2012) among the most corrupt countries "This is a difficult task that is not insurmountable" https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-10013-haiti-economy-corruption-haiti-improve-its-international-ranking.html

Several actions have already been taken by the Government to reduce corruption in the country and to support these actions, the new coordinator of the CNMP promised to work according to the principles governing the operation of this organization, to allow everyone to be treated with fairness, equality, according to their competence in the procurement.
