Lesly Condé, the Consul General of Haiti in Chicago reminds the entire Haitian community, that this Friday, October 17, brings the 208th anniversary of the death of Emperor Jean-Jacques Dessalines, and suggests that this is a day of reflection on the historic importance of our Nation.

To mark this important date, the Mission will present Sunday, October 19 on 1590AM and www.1590wcgo.com from 7:00 to 8:00 pm, a special program in honor of the Founding Father of the Haitian Nation.

Also Sunday, the Haitian Catholic Mission of the Archdiocese of Chicago and the Consular Mission invite the faithful of all religious sensibilities at a Mass to be celebrated in memory of Jean-Jacques Dessalines. After the religious ceremony, which will take place at 5:30 pm at the Church of Our Lady of Peace, located at 7801 South Jeffrey, Chicago, a reception will be held in the basement of the church.

The Consulate General of Haiti in Chicago relying on the presence in number of his compatriots, to enhance the luster of this commemoration.
