Haiti - Petit-Goâve : Students of Lycée Faustin Soulouque issued an ultimatum

On Tuesday, during a press conference given of the courtyard of the Lycée Faustin Soulouque of Petit-Goâve, students threatened to took the streets this Wednesday, Oct. 29, if teachers do not provide their courses.

Recall that teachers observe a work stoppage in solidarity with the Director Louis Frantz Batista who was insulted by a parent, Alexandre Gerber https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-12264-haiti-petit-goave-temporary-lifting-of-the-strike-at-the-lycee-faustin-soulouque.html . The case is before the instruction of the jurisdiction of Petit-Goâve, but the conclusion of this case, is still expected...

On the micro of Radio Préférence FM, the students declared "It's been over one month that teachers do not work. Even if they are at school, they do nothing" "Some want to politicize the Lycée Faustin Soulouque", "We want the resumption of classes..."

"[...] If the school does not work, the colleges of the city will not work [...] We will demonstrate and at the same time prevent the others establishments o work [...] There will be no school in Petit-Goâve," warned some students very angry.

Note that students of the Lycée Faustin Soulouque have sent a letter to the Minister of National Education, Nesmy Manigat, asking him to do everything in its power to allow this high school paralyzed for too long, to operate normally, as other schools throughout the country.
