Unsuccessful candidate in the race for the presidency of Haiti by the Provisional Electoral Council (CEP) Wyclef Jean abandons any attempt to become president of Haiti and withdrew his appeal to the Provisional Electoral Council. The team of the singer confirmed her formal withdrawal, in a release Tuesday.

"After weeks of quiet but painstaking reflection with my wife and daughter, I have chosen to end my bid for the presidency of Haiti" says the singer.
