Haiti - Sports : 2 possible medals, 0 for Haiti...

Thursday at the XXII Central American and Caribbean Games, which take place in Veracruz, Mexico, our Haitian athletes participated in the competitions: Triple Jump, 110m hurdles, 1,500m.

In the final triple jump woman Pascale Delaunay, achieved a time of 13.47, her personal best time, but not enough to get a medal, finishing 6th out of 8. The gold medal was won by the Colombian Caterine Ibarguen with 14.57 secondes, silver by the Cuban Dailenis Alcantara with 14.09 secondes and bronze by the Colombian Yosiry Urrutia with 13.89 secondes.

In the 110-meter hurdles, Jeffrey Michael Julmis qualified to continues de competitions with 14.02 secondes and ranking 3rd out of 6, he will continues competitions alongside Greggmar Swiwf from Barbados (13.62), Jhoanis Carlos Portilla from Cuba (13.74) and Genaro Rodriguez of Mexico (14.03).

In the final of the men's 1,500 meters, 2 Haitian athletes participated in the race, James Sael and Felix Lafontant, they respectively finished 10th and 11th out of 11 with a time of 4:22.04 minutes and 4:26.83 minutes, another medal that escapes our athletes, the race was won by the Cuban Andy Gonzalez in 3:45.52 (gold medal) and Mexican Pablo Solares in 3:45.62, Christopher A.. Sandoval in 3:47.55 respectively silver and bronze medal.

Note that so far Haiti has already won 3 bronze medals, one in judo and two in weightlifting.

This Friday Samyr Laine and Jeffrey Michael Julmis will try their luck for a medal respectively in the final triple jump and 110m hurdles.
