Haiti - Culture : 3 great musicians rewarded at the National Palace

Monday at the National Palace, the Prime Minister, Laurent Lamothe, proceeded at a ceremony to the presentation of Honor and Merit plates, to the Fabrice Rouzier, Clément Bélizaire and the Martinican, Eric Virgal for their contribution to the Caribbean and Haitian music.

The ceremony was attended by President Michel Martelly who said salute this noble initiative from its Head of government that reflects the importance given by the tandem Martelly /Lamote to the cultural sector. It also reflects the recognition of the Martelly administration towards these talented musicians.

"Eric virgal, Fabrice Rouzier and Clément Belizaire, you who have worked for the promotion of the Caribbean and Haitian music, this ceremony is a mark of respect, recognition and appreciation of the Government towards you. Our reunion today remind me the years of performance with you on stage," declared the Head of State, while commending the efforts of these musicians throughout their careers to make shiny the Caribbean music on the international scene.

"Although Eric Virgal is of Martinique nationality, his works make him a son of the Greater Caribbean, and in particularly of Haiti that he so loved and sung through his hit songs like Gonaïves and Yon ti zetwal pou Ayiti. To Fabrice and Kéké, the Nation is very grateful to you. Because you have helped to improve the country's image in your way," stated the Prime Minister saying award these plaques in order to reward the exemplary careers of these world-class artists.

Recipients do not hide their satisfaction with this highest distinction of the Haitian Government.
