Haiti - Music : Thurgot Théodat at îlOjazz Festival in Guadeloupe

Following the Jazz Festival of Pointe-à-Pitre, the International Festival îlOjazz after five years of existence, offers a special edition in three parts: professional meetings, jam and concerts, to be held in Guadeloupe from Monday 8 to Saturday, December 13 2014.

The well-known saxophonist Thurgot Théodat (born in Port-au-Prince in January 1959) invited at the International Festival îlOjazz will play in concert alongside Cuban pianist and the Guadeloupean percussionist Gistav Labeka for a creation produced in partnership with Kolimel, in opening of the evening of Friday 12 December.

This evening, called îlOLive will also give carte blanche to Jacques-Marie bass, keyboards Master "ka". It will conclude with a concert by Steve Coleman & the Five Elements.

Recall that Thurgot Théodat has already participated in the Jazz Festival of Pointe-à-Pitre in 2007 with his group "Thurgot Théodat band" [Loubens Bien-Aimé on drums, Marck-Richard Mirand on bass, Evens Saint Just on guitar, Claude Saturné and Jean-Marie Louissaint « Kebyesou » to percussion.]

Thurgot Théodat will be also on the agenda of the 9th Jazz Festival of Port-au-Prince on Wednesday 21 and Saturday, January 24, 2015.
