Friday, on the Place Boyer in Pétion-Ville, as part of the celebration of International Volunteer Day (IVD 2014), Haitian and international voluntary organizations: TECHO, France Volunteer, the Haitian Coalition of the Volunteers (COHAIV) and UN Volunteers in partnership with the Haitian Ministry of Youth, Sports and Civic Action (MJSAC) and the Directorate of Civil Protection, organized a volunteer fair that emphasized on the popular participation through the slogan Volontarya ka chanje Ayiti !"

The main corps of volunteers and national and international voluntary organizations were present to represent the diverse forms of volunteerism in the country. Throughout the day have held introductory workshops open to the public to the Haitian dance, capoeira (Afro-Brazilian martial art https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-8893-haiti-sports-first-caribbean-encounter-of-capoeira-in-haiti.html ), theater and slam, all driven by Haitian volunteers.

The day began with an official launch ceremony in the presence of representatives of the United Nations and the government and ended with two basketball matches: a first friendly match between a team of Haitian volunteers and a team of international volunteers followed by the final of Community basketball tournament organized for the occasion by the "Basket pou chanjement".

Saturday, a group of some national and international volunteers met at the Central Plateau to conduct a public interest activity, namely the planting of mango in the commune of Boucan Carré, in partnership with TechnoServe and peasant of the organization Zanmi Agrikol. The afternoon was devoted to the visit of sacred places of voodoo of the town of Saut d'Eau.
