Wednesday, following numerous dysfunctions of the Notre-Dame Hospital of Petit-Goâve, the Executive Board of the New Alliance of the political opposition, met for nearly an hour, Dr. Gustave Jean François Acting Director of the hospital.

Responding to questions from the press, from the outset, Dr. Jean Francois admitted that the hospital Notre Dame de Petit Goâve knows at present a problem of deficiency in technical staff [...] Some services, including internal medicine, maternity, orthopedics operate with a reduced number [...] we need more doctors and more staff."

In addition, the hospital is facing a recurring problem with theft. Individuals who have nothing to do with the regular staff come stealing equipment "This is a serious problem, we try to fix it. But it is not easy because of the shortage of human resources," revealed the Medical Director.

Furthermore, he confirmed, the installation in the Notre-Dame Hospital, of a new Commission composed of 4 members, besides himself, sits on the Commission Dr. Jimmy Beaubrun, Representative of the Ministry of Health, the medical director, the administrator Wilkès Poisson and the nurse Gibbs. The commission's mission is to identify the problems of the hospital, the possible solutions and make appropriate recommendation, and has a period of three months to produce his report.

"If within three months, the Ministry of Public Health does not Appoints New Medical Director at the head of the Notre-Dame Hospital, I leave as Acting Director," said Dr. Gustave which, however, has promised to improve hospital services claiming "that as of February 14, 2015, significant changes will be noted."

Dr. Gustave Jean François concluded by calling on the cooperation of citizens of Petit-Goâve. "Help me to improve what can be, because a good public servant is not one that has large means, but one who operates the business with the limited means available."
