Haiti - Social : The National Carnival returns to Port-au-Prince

Pierre Richard Duplan, the interim executive agent in charge of the Mayor of Port-au-Prince, has announced that the Head of State confirmed that the National Carnival will be back this year in Port-au-Prince on 15, 16 and 17 February, hafter having been relocated in previous years in Les Cayes, Cap Haitien and Gonaïves.

For now the organizing committee is still unable to launch the preparations for the 2015 National Carnival which has not yet topic, pending the installation of the new government.

Meanwhile, the activities of pre-carnival Sundays begin this Sunday, January 18 and will end Sunday, February 8, 2015. Around the theme "Bay Ayiti yon Chans" (very popular on the internet), 44 walking bands and at least 8 DJ floats will provide the entertainment at Champ de Mars from 4:00 pm to 11:00 pm, according to the mayor of Port-au-Prince, which states that a provisional budget of nearly 8 million gourdes was submitted to the Ministry of Interior for all of the festivities.

Déjà plus d’une vingtaine de meringues carnavalesques sont diffusées sur internet et dans les médias en Haïti.
