The Minustah, informed us Wednesday that during a routine patrol, the military had discovered Thursday, January 15, a mortar grenade 81mm, obsolete and dilapidated, in the commune of Carrefour.

This ammunition was carefully removed and transported by specialized technicians, of the battalion of Brazilian engineers before being destroyed without incident.

The population is strongly encouraged to report without delay to the National Police of Haiti any discovery, of weapons or ammunition in order to ensure its safety. It is also advised to the population to stay away and to ensure that no one frequent the places of these discoveries, until the arrival on site of PNH security officers.

It is strongly disadvised to the public to touch or try to move these weapons, ammunition or explosives, because of the risk of injury and potential danger for public safety.
