Haiti - Montreal : 4th edition of the International Forum

The fourth annual International forum will be held for the first time in Montreal, from January 23 to 24, 2015. The International Forum is a unique initiative of World University Service of Canada (WUSC). It has been organized by the WUSC in cooperation with Centre for International Studies and Cooperation (CECI) since November 2013.

The International Forum is an exciting annual gathering where the best ideas and practices for international development are shared. It is a chance for specialists, decision makers and researchers from different sectors to learn and hear some important perspectives. The Forum brings together delegates from government, northern international cooperation organizations, southern civil society and the private sector, as well as youth, researchers and international development specialists.

The Chamber of Commerce and Industry Haitian-Canadian (CCIHC) will participate in the Forum, which for 4 years allows exchanges of good practices in international development.

This year, two workshops are reserved for Haiti : "What have 10 years of volunteer cooperation in Haiti accomplished ?" and "Five years on, which development approach will work best for Haiti ?" In the second workshop CCIHC will participate as a panelist "Our participation in this forum is doubly important. As an association of the private sector working for the development of Haiti, we are very interested to know what others are doing in this area. In addition, it will give us the opportunity to share and reflect five years after the earthquake on the development choices made and those to do," declared Martine Denis Chandler, Executive Director of the CCIHC.
