Haiti - Literature : Evening meeting with Yanick Lahens (Prix Femina 2014)

Thursday, February 5 at 5:00 pm in the multipurpose room of Knowledge and Freedom Foundation (FOKAL), Haitian novelist Yanick Lahens will meet her readers around her latest novel "Bain de Lune" crowned in 2014, with the Prix Femina https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-12434-haiti-literature-the-novelist-yanick-lahens-received-the-prix-femina-2014.html

Six readers (Sherly François, Behring Lainé, Christelle Desjardin, Péguy F. C. Pierre, Georgy Lundy and Stéphane Saintil) supervised by Elizabeth Pierre-Louis Augustin, will ask their questions to the novelist. She will alos participate to an exercise near of the "Pivot Questionnaire" as before her Lyonel Trouillot, Dany Laferrière, Laurent Gaudé or Emmelie Prophète at previous meetings.

The public will also have the opportunity to exchange later with Yanick Lahens.

This evening is part of the visit to Haiti of the different partners of the project "Literary intersection of Africa and the Caribbean" (LITTAFCAR). The meeting will be followed by a reception in the atrium of FOKAL. This is an opportunity for our guests to meet readers as well as representatives of Haiti in the book sector.

Yanick Lahens has studied literature and was quickly remarked on the Haitian literary scene. Her literary work that begins with essays and novels, is enriched for several years by the publication of novels published mainly by the French publishing house Sabine Wespieser and recognized by international critics. The obtaining, in 2014 the prestigious Prix Femina for 'Bain de lune', originally a novel published in the collection 'la Petite corruption', which crowns a rich path. She lives in Port-au-Prince and is actively involved in civic and cultural life of the country.
