Haiti - Politic : Evans Paul calls for the resumption of activities

On this Monday of strike in public transport, the Government of the Republic invites the population to remain calm, and reiterates its firm determination to continue the ongoing dialogue with the vital sectors of the nation; dialogue more than necessary to calm the spirits and thus contribute to the noble task that is the national construction. Work stoppages caused by these calls to strike can only harm the national economy and have adverse consequences for the most vulnerable populations.

Consequently, the government invites all public servants and private sector workers to resume their activities for the greater good of the Nation. The Government reiterates the rights of the population to freely go about their business as part of a healthy and peaceful democracy.

In its efforts to safeguard democratic and republican institutions, the government passed clear instructions https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-13135-haiti-flash-we-ll-occupy-the-street-dixit-godson-orelus.html to the units of the National Police of Haiti (PNH) to protect the public and to maintain public order, by the resources made available to them by the Constitution and laws of the Republic.

This morning the activities of public transportation in Port-au-Prince and its surroundings were severely disrupted, preventing economic activities, schools... A new day strike is scheduled for tomorrow, Tuesday https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-13132-haiti-economy-two-new-strike-days-in-transport.html
