Sunday, on the occasion of 28 years of the Constitution of 1987, hundreds of demobilized former soldiers of the Armed Forces of Haiti (FAd'H) and young recruits in military fatigues but not armed, marched from the base of former military to Merger, until the Champ-de-Mars, under the supervision of the National Police of Haiti (PNH). The march took place without incident under the eyes of passersby.

"This march is to ask the President Martelly to meet his campaign promises [...]," explained Jean Fednel Lafalaise a military at the head of the march.

"Today we are about 1,500 [to march] but we are 6,984 young people at the base of Merger, and 14,000 across the country [...] young people today who have not experienced the army of yesteryear have the chance to live with us, we prepare them. You can see girls and boys in our midst. We have about 72 women at the base of Merger [...] In security and military matters, we can not reveal what we will do, except that today, we do not consider us as rebels or as violent. We ask that the Constitution be respected to the letter [The Constitution recognizes two forces in Haitian territory, the Police and the Army]. Today [...] we want to say the President to rescind the order that President Aristide had taken in 1995 and to appoint a Command in chief for us..."

For the commander Jeudy, "it is important that the armed forces back in Haiti, especially in the current environment, to protect the population at the border with the Dominican Republic."
