The Ministry of Communication informs that by presidential decree, dated April 21, 2015, April 26 was declared "National Day of Remembrance in memory of the victims of Fort Dimanche", which April 26, 1986, were killed front the infamous prison, while they demanded justice for the victims of the massacre of April 26, 1963.

On the occasion of the National Day of Remembrance the Government indicates that the National Flag will be flown at half mast. It encourages the private and public sectors, families, institutions, educational, social, commercial, religious and other, to observe periods of recollection. Radio and television stations are encouraged to program broadcasts and appropriate music.

The Ministry of Communications said that this day aims to honor the memory of the victims of the massacre but also all victims of Fort Dimanche.
