Haiti - Environment : Launch of the Action Committee for Environmental Protection

This Tuesday, at Sugar Cane Historical Park, Jimmy Borgella, President Founder of the organization "Vie Jeunes", proceeded to the official launch of the Action Committee for Environmental Protection (Commission d'Action à la Protection de l'Environnement - CAPE).

On this occasion Josée Narlie Pascal, President of the Commission delivered a speech. For her part, Lourdes Cherley Dominique, Commission Communication Officer, made the presentation of the rules of procedure and criteria for membership to the CAPE.

The mission of this Commission will be to create and develop a framework for reflection, design and implementation of projects based on issues related to environmental issues for the full development and empowerment of Haitian youth.

After the ceremony, Joël Augustus of the Françoise Canez Auguste Foundation, hosted a small talk where he presented the Foundation's reforestation activities and lessons that have been learned.

Joël Augustus was appointed by the CAPE, Goodwill Ambassador and received a Certificate of Merit for his actions taken to protect the environment.

Then, Miss Josée Narlie Pascal, has officially launched the project "National Network of Ecological Clubs" of the organization "Vie Jeunes", that it will be possible to integrate to participate in the implementation of the network.

The closing of the event was held in the Hall of Heroes of Independence, which allowed to discover the famous exhibition "Haiti and Africa: Two hearts resonate" designed by Carmelita Douby Guillaume and illustrator Chevelin Pierre.
