Haiti - Economy : Investments of the diaspora in Latin America and the Caribbean

For the first time, the Association of American Chambers of Commerce of Latin America and the Caribbean (AACCLA) wil held in Haiti its annual regional conference "Business Future of the Americas", from 15 to 17 June 2015, at the Marriott Hotel in Port-au-Prince on the theme "The Diaspora investments in Latin America and the Caribbean." This conference is organized with the support of several Haitian businesses : Brana, Digicel, Marriott, Comme il Faut, Delta, DHL, Groupe Acra, Dagmar, Access Haiti.

This event will provide opportunities to integrate and interact with a network of over 300 business leaders from the United States, the Caribbean, Brazil and several other countries in the region. With world-renowned speakers, companies and organizations strategically located in the heart of the Caribbean, this conference will allow Haiti and Latin America to stand by their emerging role in the global economy. "The emphasis on the Diaspora and its leading role in the investments seem us particularly interesting for Haiti and we hope that this conference will be a meeting point for our Haitian businessmen from the diaspora, who are best placed to do business and work in the region," explained René Régine Labrousse, President of the Organizing Committee of the conference.

The American Chamber of Commerce in Haiti (AmCham) gives to this annual conference a wider scope, by ading to it a day to discuss "Doing Business in Haiti." Through the panels which will be held this event will give further insight on the challenges identified in terms of investment and solutions to them. The "Business-to-Business Meetings" (B2Bs) will also be scheduled throughout the day. "We invite business men and business women of the country, including the Haitian provinces, to register for exchanges with their counterparts throughout the region," launched Régine René Labrousse.

Registration of the participants are open and a special rate granted to businessmen who register before May 15, 2015. Registration is online at : www.bfa2015haiti.com/home/

Moreover, AmCham will organize several touristic visits upstream of the conference to give foreign visitors a glimpse of the tourist and historical heritage of Haiti, as well as on the business opportunities.
