By the end of May or early June at the latest, the names of 104 selected candidates at the scholarship competition for Mexico, whose tests were held on April 28 will be released to the public, indicated Diego Ruiz Gayol, the Deputy Head of Mission at the Embassy of Mexico in Port-au-Prince , who said he was satisfied with the conduct of these evaluations, thanks to the major contribution of the Ministry of National Education. 790 of 859 registered students, took part in the competition which was held at the National High School in Petion-ville in mathematical tests of reading comprehension and logical reasoning.

This group of 104 scholars comes complete the goal of 300 scholarships, set in the South-South partnership between Haiti and Mexico https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-7269-haiti-education-mexico-grants-300-scholarships.html , leading to the high level training of professionals able to participate in the development of the country. A first group of 103, followed by a second group of 93, are already found in Mexico as part of this training program, launched to support the reconstruction of Haiti following the January 2010 earthquake.

Upon announcement of the results, successful applicants will have one month to finalize travel arrangements (study document, and travel arrangements). They should leave Port-au-Prince in July or August next for Mexico.

"Six training areas have been identified: mining engineering, mechanical engineering, civil engineering, telecommunications engineering and networks, multimedia engineering and e-commerce, engineering of renewable energy. In the first six months, the scholars will attend upgrading courses in Spanish language and Mexican culture, to facilitate their integration," informed the Head of Mission.

Shortly, another academic excellence program will be launched, indicated Diego Ruiz Gayol. Ten scholarships will be offered for masters and doctoral programs. At least 3 students already there, will be empowered to be part of this group. The call for applications will be launched in August, 2015.
