Listen the full speech of President Michel Martelly :

Jean Vernet Henry, for his part, called for a mobilization of Haitian universities for our flag and the Haitian dignity. He also insisted on the centennial of the American occupation in 1915, which for him should lead us to think deeply about the meaning of the Nation. He also wanted the improvement of the level of university education, a better financial allocation from the State and a greater involvement of students in the recovery process of Haiti's sovereignty.

Andris Riché, believes that the town of Arcahaie should be seen as a place of pilgrimage and advocated for a new Congress of Arcahaie, to redefine the new directions of development of Haiti https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-13916-haiti-politic-andris-riche-advocates-another-congress-of-arcahaie.html

Subsequently, the presidential couple observed a minute of silence, and then made a floral offering in honor of Catherine Flon and the Emperor Jean Jacques Dessalines. Before attending the Te Deum in the Church Saint-Pierre de l'Arcahaie, the Head of State visited "Grann Guiton" and later to "Bakisi" to make a fitting tribute to these high places of worship, witness of many struggles around the flag.
