After more than 10 days late, the Provisional Electoral Council (CEP) has completed treatment challenges of about 500 candidates for deputies and Senate, rejected for non-compliance with the criteria required in the Electoral Decree, as on the final list, published by the CEP on May 14 https://www.haitilibre.com/en/news-13875-haiti-flash-final-list-of-approved-candidates.html , the CEP has finally released Sunday, in accordance with Article 98 of the Electoral Decree, two new lists of candidates recovered for senators (47) and deputies (294), which are now allowed to take part in the legislative elections scheduled for August 9th according to the timetable.

The total of senators now amounts to 186 + 47 recovered is 233 candidates :

Artibonite : 17 + 8 = 25

Centre : 19 + 5 = 24

Grand Anse : 14 + 2 = 16

Nippes : 14 + 1 = 15

North : 25 + 9 = 34

North East : 7 + 9 = 16

North West : 23 + 2 = 25

West : 34 + 5 = 39

South : 22 + 3 = 25

South East : 11 + 3 = 14
