Nine months after the earthquake, despite the humanitarian aid, more than 1.3 million people still live in precarious conditions in over 1,300 camps. Hundreds of Haitians displaced living in camps, holding placards, raised slogans anti-government, denouncing the irresponsibility of the authorities, outside the office of Prime Minister Jean Max Bellerive, at Port-au-Prince.

The demonstration of Tuesday, organized by the committees and organizations of the refugee camps, including the "Force Reflection and Action on the Housing Problem" (Force de Réflexion et d'Action sur la Problématique du Logement FRAKKA) claimed a decent, stable housing for quake victims "We ask that non-governmental organizations cease losing money in the construction of false shelters [transitional housing] and build hard" organizers said. Protesters demanding the government building of decent housing for those living in tents, and reject the forced evictions. According to various sources, more than 30,000 people were deported, and tens of thousands are threatened to be "we call on the Prime Minister to take all measures to force landlords to stop the evictions", declared a spokesperson.

So far, the government has announced no plans for housing for earthquake victims. IDPs feel abandoned by the authorities. "We are totally forgot [...] tents are infested with rats and insects", said the protesters, a woman has claimed she can not live again with her children in the tents and plastic sheeting "they are real furnaces the day".

"We're not going to presidential and legislative elections of 28 November under the tents", threatened the FRAKKA in a statement. "We are determined to demonstrate daily until the election. In our situation how can we dare to speak of elections", reported one of the camp manager.
