The Dominican Ministry of Interior and Police through the General Directorate of Migration, in accordance with Article 36 of Decree No. 327-13 of 29 November 2013, informs the foreigners (whatever their nationality), that are on the Dominican territory illegally (for example, who entered the country with tourist card or visa and who have exhausted their stay, or illegally entered the territory) and that are not registered in the National Plan of Regularization of Foreigners (PNRE) which ended on June 17, they can request for a free assistance to return voluntarily to their countries of origin.

All foreigners who request it will be assisted by the General Directorate of Immigration and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MIREX), which will provide them with free ground transportation and security, to bring them to their departure point to the port, airport or border point of exit of their choice, as well as the necessary communication with consular authorities.

The facilities for assisted voluntary return, are valid for 15 days from 22 June to 6 July 2015 (except Sunday).

Transportation will be available at "Centro Olímpico Juan Pablo Duarte" located in the National District and in the « gobernaciones » of the provinces of Altagracia, San Pedro de Macoris, Santiago de los Caballeros, Valverde (Mao), San Juan de la Maguana and Barahona.

All foreigners that will require to benefit from this voluntary return plan will not show applied administrative sanctions provided for in the Regulations of the Law 285-04. This means that they will eventually return to the Dominican Republic, provided they complete the prescribed procedures.
