The ballots are printed in Dubai

A delegation of the Provisional Electoral Council (CEP) composed of President Pierre Louis Opont, of the Secretary Ricardo Augustine and the Director of the electoral register Philippe Augustin flew Sunday to Dubai, United Arab Emirates. This is an inspection visit of the firm responsible for printing the ballots for the upcoming parliamentary elections. According to the spokesperson of the electoral institution, Frantz Bernadin, it's the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), which manages the budget of the elections that chose the firm following an international tender. The delegation of the CEP will be back in the country on 30 June.

Lawyers of Jacky Lumarque send a summons to the CEP

The platform Vérité informs having summoned the Provisional Electoral Council (CEP) to reconsider its decision to exclude its candidate for president, Jacky Lumarque, of the electoral process. The CEP has 24 hours from receipt of the summons to meet this requirement, according to Me Gordini Jean Philippe, Platform lawyer, accusing the CEP of violating its own electoral decree.

In the kingdom of confusion...

Frantz Bernadin, Spokesperson of CEP indicates that the institution has yielded to any pressure by removing the names of Jacky Lumarque and Levelt François of the approved list of candidates for the presidency. He maintains that the two candidates were rejected for failing to discharge and for justice problem in the US linked to a drug trafficking. For his part, Level François categorically denies having been in trouble with the US court for possession and drug trafficking. Calling unjust the decision to remove him from the presidential race, claiming to have register with the CEP under the name "LEVEL François" and no "LEVELT François"...

Arrival of electoral materials

According to Frantz Bernardin, the Spokesman of the CEP announced that the Electoral Council should receive Tuesday in Port-au-Prince 1,800 training kits and 4,865 operational kits, the first in a series of three shipments of materials, stating that the other two cargo will arrive on 27 and 29 June.
